Our team combines country-specific knowledge and years of practical experience on the ground with broad expertise in project management, communication, law, MHPSS and international aid.

Due to ongoing repression against civil society in Belarus, we need to protect our staff and therefore can only present them anonymously.

Marco Fieber

Executive Director

Degree in Political Science, East European History and Caucasus Studies in Jena, Tbilisi and Munich. Worked as a political and news journalist from 2016 to 2022. Member of Libereco since 2010.

Imke Hansen

Vice Executive Director & Program Manager MHPSS

Dr. phil. Imke Hansen is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (trauma therapy) and a scholar of East European History who has worked with survivors of war and persecution and published on experiences of violence for more than 20 years. She specializes in trauma-informed MHPSS for civil society activists and survivors of captivity and torture.

Yana S.

Program Manager Legal Help

Yana S. is studying political science and public law. She has completed specialised trainings in asylum and residence law. Her knowledge of Russian, German, English and Belarusian enables her to provide comprehensive support to people in difficult legal situations. As a native of Belarus, she is particularly concerned about the situation in Belarus and Ukraine. She is highly committed to using her knowledge and skills to make a positive contribution.

Aija S.

Advocacy Officer

Aija S. studied crisis, conflict and disaster communication and has worked in the fields of education, politics and museum management. She has been involved in human rights work since 2020. As a Latvian, she is particularly committed to supporting political prisoners in neighbouring Belarus.

Kseniia Levadna

Public Relations Officer

With 8 years of experience working with Ukrainian NGOs in the fields of human rights, urban planning, education, culture, social projects, and arts, she brings extensive expertise in communication and public relations.
