The liberation in April 2022 revealed enormous devastation, with many buildings destroyed or severely damaged. This was compounded by the psychological impact of the occupation. This project will take place in a small town in the Chernihiv region, which currently has no cultural facilities or youth centres.

This project will take place in a small town in the Chernihiv region, which currently has no cultural facilities or youth centres.
With our partner Repair Together, we are renovating and enlarging a youth cultural centre in the Chernihiv region. The cultural centre also provides an open meeting place for social exchange and cultural events for the local community and the many volunteers who are helping to rebuild the area.
LIBERECO is supporting the Ukrainian initiative Repair Together in reconstructing a cultural centre in the Chernihiv region. Activists and artists founded Repair Together at the end of April 2022, after large areas around Kyiv and Chernihiv had been liberated. They combine clean-up work with raves, giving volunteers a break from the realities of war. Over the past three years, more than 4,500 volunteers have participated in Repair Together. Together they have cleared more than 180 houses of debris and started the construction of 6 new homes.
