«Mom-Mobile»

Since January 2024, Kharkiv has come under increased fire from Russian troops. Civilian objects are deliberately targeted, and the situation has worsened with a new ground offensive in May 2024. Thousands of people, including many mothers with young children, have been evacuated from their villages to Kharkiv.

The situation is particularly precarious for mothers with young children: the lack of childcare facilities and the difficult economic situation have led to severe financial hardship. Power cuts and continued shelling are further exacerbating living conditions.

The Mom-Mobile aims to close the gaps in care for mothers with young children (0-3 years) in Kharkiv. It ensures the provision of essential goods to promote the health and well-being of children and their mothers.

Single parents can indicate their need for support via Instagram. Our partner organisation DVR assembles necessary items, such as nappies, baby food and care products, on an individual basis. The supplies are delivered directly to the residential areas, so that mothers do not have to take dangerous routes into the city centre.
