Evacuating Civilians

When there is an acute risk, civilians need to be evacuated from their villages urgently. Since 2022, we have been supporting the evacuation of civilians from villages close to the front line, particularly those in need of care.

SITUATION

SITUATION

The situation on the frontline is extremely dynamic and the advance of Russian forces could change at any time. Since February, approximately 3.5 million people have fled their homes. Events such as the destruction of the Nova Kakhovka Dam or the large-scale offensive against the Kharkiv region in the summer of 2024 have triggered massive refugee movements.

OUR GOAL

OUR GOAL

Our aim is to work with our partners to get as many people as possible to safety and to protect them from the Russian occupation. Vulnerable people will be evacuated with appropriate transport and support. We are also creating additional shelter places for people with and without care needs.

HOW WE HELP

HOW WE HELP

We work closely with our partners and provide flexible funding to help people in the affected areas quickly and efficiently. Together, we monitor the situation on the ground and respond to new movements of refugees on a daily basis. During evacuations, we focus on the most vulnerable people, such as those with increased care needs, from areas close to the front line. The rapid and safe evacuation of these people is of the utmost urgency.

We have also delivered 14 minibuses and transit buses to Ukraine for evacuations and distributions of humanitarian aid.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Your support can make a difference! Help us save lives by evacuating people and providing safe shelter. Thank you for your help!
