Our solidarity campaign #WeStandBYyou for political prisoners in Belarus is turning five. What began as an emergency initiative in June 2020 has grown into an international advocacy movement with more than 560 participating politicians from 24 countries. Despite recent releases, more than 1,200 political prisoners remain in Belarus. Thus, our solidarity is still needed.
Together with German MPs Robin Wagener and Johannes Schraps, who have been active godparents for years, we want to review the past years and some of the campaign’s results, as well as assess the current situation. At the end of the evening, there will be an opportunity to write letters of solidarity to political prisoners.
